Here is a list of national and international organization which  contribute to the development, progress and improvement of Neurotrauma and critical Care on an organized level. The Joint section of Neurotrauma and Critical Care work lose together with this organizstions. 

  • Mission statement of AANS
    • The content of the activities sponsored by AANS is concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders that affect the entire nervous system including the spinal column, spinal cord, brain and peripheral nerves. The scope of activities involves the body of knowledge and skills generally recognized and accepted by the profession in the following subspecialties:Spine, Tumor, Brain , Cerebrovascular, Trauma. Pediatrics. General Neurosurgery, Functional and Stereotactic.
  • Mission statement of CNS
    • The Congress of Neurological Surgeons exists to enhance health and improve lives worldwide through the advancement of education and scientific exchange.
  • Council of State Neurosurgical Societies Neurotrauma and Neurosurgery
    • The CSNS Neurotrauma and Emergency Neurosurgery Committee researches and presents reports, surveys and white papers as assigned by the CSNS Executive Committee, including issues related to regional trauma care coverage, reimbursement issues, trauma workforce issues, dissemination and utilization of advances in treatment, and training program competencies in emergency neurosurgery.

    • General description of information that raises awareness to the importance of recognizing concussions and other brain injuries

    • General information for doctors desiring to improve the outcome of patients with life-threatening neurological illnesses
  • American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma
    • The mission of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma is to develop and implement meaningful programs for trauma care in local, regional, national, and international arenas. These programs must include education, professional development, standards of care, and assessment of outcomes
  • Society of Neurological Surgeons
    • The Society of Neurological Surgeons (the "Senior Society") is the American society of leaders in neurosurgical residency education, and is the oldest neurosurgical society in the world. Academic department chairman, residency program directors, and other key individuals comprise the active membership of the Society. The membership is limited to 200 active members, while senior, inactive and honorary members fill out the remainder of the Society. 

  • Neurotraumatology Committee of  the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS)
    • The mission of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) is:
      • To facilitate the personal association of neurological surgeons throughout the world.
      • To aid in the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and ideas in the field of neurological surgery.
      • To encourage research in neurological surgery and allied sciences. 
      • To address issues of neurosurgical demography. 
      • To address issues of Public Health. 
      • To implement, improve and promote the standards of neurosurgical care and training worldwide.
